Up to 1,000 fans will be admitted at each of Roland Garros’ three show courts through the first 10 days of the tournament, which begins on May 30th.

Outer courts can host up to 35 percent of standard capacity during those first 10 days under national Coronavirus safety protocol.

Starting with the quarterfinals on June 9th crowd capacity will be increased to 65 percent—except the two primary stadiums.

Crowds will be capped at 5,000 fans at both 15,000-seat Philippe Chatrier and 10,000-seat Suzannne Lenglen Court from the quarterfinals on through the men’s final on Sunday, June 13th.

French sports minister Jean-Michel Blanquer announced the return of fans to the French Open in an interview with France 3 TV.

“The gauge is set at 35 percent at that moment, with a maximum of 1,000 spectators… per court, of course,” said the French foreign minister in comments published by Reuters.
