James Wiseman Suffers Torn Meniscus, May Miss Rest of Season

Golden State Warriors center James Wiseman suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee in his team’s 125-109 win over the Houston Rockets on Saturday night, per a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The injury occurred in the second quarter of the game when Wiseman attempted a dunk but landed awkwardly on his right leg.

Wiseman, the second overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, has been inconsistent in his rookie season – but he’s also flashed considerable potential on both ends of the floor.

In 39 games this season, Wiseman has averaged 11.5PPG and 5.8RPG on 52% shooting from the field.

The Warriors currently sit in tenth place in the Western Conference standings with a record of 25-28.

If the Warriors are going to be without Wiseman for the remainder of the season, they’ll have an incredibly difficult time competing for a spot in the Western Conference playoffs.
