LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne has signed one of the top prospects in basketball, Victor Wembanyama, to a three-year deal, the club announced Tuesday. Wembanyama (2.20 meters, 17 years old) arrives from fellow French side Nanterre 92, with which he made his professional debut two years ago as a 15-year-old and saw his role grow last season.

Wembanyama appeared in four games in the 7DAYS EuroCup, including an impressive 4-block effort against Cedevita Olimpija Zagreb. He also posted 5 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists in 17:29 that night. He played more in the French League, where he finished the season with 6.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.9 blocks over 17 minutes per game in 18 appearances. Wembanyama was also an All-Tournament selection at the U16 European Championships after leading France to the silver medal.
